Chemical Engineering with Emphasis on Manufacturing Processes of Pulp and Paper, bachelor undergraduate course, evening classes, with 100 (one hundred) students per year, in classes of no more than 50 (fifty) students, duration of five years, authorized by Brazilian Ministry of Education (Portaria nº. 3425 de 18/12/2003 DOU 23/12/2003) and recognized by Brazilian Ministry of Education (Portaria nº. 505 de 15/07/2008 DOU 16/07/2008).

 

Mission

Prepare professionals capable of managing ventures, through the knowledge of Chemical Engineering with emphasis in Manufacturing Processes of Pulp and Paper applied to products and process, always striving for technological innovation.

 

Vision

Being recognized as preparer of Chemical Engineers with a basic focus on Manufacturing Process of Pulp & Paper and with specific knowledge in products, processes and innovative technologies, always valorizing social and environmental issues.

 

Objectives

The main objective is to train professionals with a high scientific and technological qualification in the fields of chemical, physical-chemical and biological, which is the basis of many industrial processes. This training provides ample capacity to adapt to constant and accelerated technological change and enables professionals to promote the sustainable development of the industry without forgetting the social, economic and environmental implications of the activities in which they participate.

 

Skills and Abilities

The student's undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Fateb should, from a solid training received, acquire / develop the ability to analyze problems of Chemical Engineering, with proposals for appropriate and efficient solutions. For this, they will use basic knowledge: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer and specific expertise of Chemical Engineering and Manufacturing Processes Pulp and Paper.

 

License

The course prepares students to perform the various functions of the Chemical Engineer, providing to egress student a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering.

Industries of pulp and paper, fertilizers, ceramics, cement, pesticides, alcohol, sugar, vegetable oils and derivatives, timber, dairy, food, tobacco, soap and detergents, petrochemical, chemicals, steel, industrial gases, paints and varnishes, plastics and rubber, mining, nuclear, pharmaceutical, breweries, process consulting, technical sales, teaching, environmental organizations and research institutes.

The Coordinator holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UFRJ - Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with the work "Construction of Empirical Models and Design of a Machine Operation Production Card Package. " M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from UFRJ - Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with the paper "Biological Treatability of Effluent from Pulp and Paper Industry. " Graduate in Chemical Engineering from UEM - Universidade Estadual de Maringa, with the paper "Design Column Distillation".

 

Professional acts as coordinator of research and development - Klabin S / A. He has experience in chemical engineering, with emphasis on pulp and paper, mainly in the following topics: environment, pollution management, processes, timber, quality, paper, chemical analysis, quality, modeling, neural networks, paper, optimization, research, development, institution and technology paper; processes.
